CARDZ TV #117 SSSooo SSSpooky

Over at CARDZ TV this week Mary asked for the Challenge to be a Halloween S-Fold card. Now I have come across S-Fold cards before in the blog world, but I never put much thought into trying one. Well this challenge caught my eye on the whole S-Fold and I wanted to give it a try. I first tried it on my challenge card for Cooking With Cricut this week. Just to see if I was gonna like it. Well I did...I love it. I think I might use the S-Fold for my Christmas cards. For my card I don't have too many carts with cute Halloween theme cuts, but I really do love that cute little Spider on Doodlecharms. I thought the Eye PP I have would look cute with a Big Cute spider on it. I think it turned out cute.

I Used/Recipe:
Target $1 Spot PP
Wausau CS
DC cart- pg 62 Spider 3 1/4" Shadow feature
Pooh Font cart- Marker 3/4" EEK!
White Gel pen
Black Sharpie
Google Eyes
A2 S-Fold card

*Note* I will take a white piece of CS and place inside long ways to write a sentiment. With the spider being kinda skinny, another spider behind it on the inside didn't look right.

Thanks for all the great comments!

Hugs, Sheena

Cooking With Cricut #105 Apples or Honey

Over at My Paper Craft World this week the Cooking With Cricut Challenge was Apples or Honey in honor of the Fall feast Yahweh(Yeshua Jesus Christ Our Lord),Yom Teruah (New Year) and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement). I went with Honey for my card. I love honey bees and bee hives I think they are so cute. Plus I really wanted to use this Autumn paper I have. I thought it go well with a Honey theme. I made an S-Fold card. This is my first go at an S-Fold. I got the idea from Mary at CARDZ TV..that is our challenge for her this week an S-Fold and well I wanted to give it a try for the Cooking With Cricut Challenge. This card is for Cooking With Cricut since it's not a Halloween theme. I have to say I Love the S-Fold style..I might even  make Christmas cards in the S-Fold style.

I Used/Recipe:
Cloud 9 Desgin PP- Seasonal Stack
Wausau CS
Bazzill CS
Pooh & Friends cart- pg16 Hive 3 1/2" Outiside and 3 1/4" Inside -- pg17 Bees 1 1/4" n 1" also used flip feature
CTMH Ink - Desert Sand
Black Sharpie- Faux stitching and Bzzz!
A2 size S-Fold card

*Note* my bees the base is Yellow and I used the sharpie pen to color the black onto them cause the cuts were too small on the cricut and they didn't turn out right when I glued them down. Also I drew on the little antenna's. Today really made me frustrated with my paper trimmer. I am headed to M's tomorrow and seeing what deals they have on a trimmer..it's time for a new one. Thank you for those who commented on several post back about Trimmers you recommend. I'll look at them tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Cooking With Cricut #102 Color Challenge

This week at My Paper Craft World the Cooking With Cricut Challenge was a Color Challenge. The colors you had to use are Brown, Kraft, Cream, Green, and Red. I love these colors together. Fall is my favorite time of year and these colors remind me of the leaves changing, caramel apples, and all the fun things about Fall. My card is simple..I did a stamped background on simple pattern paper. My card could be used for a simple greeting to a friend.

I Used/Recipe:
Cloud9 Design PP- Seasonal Stack
Wausau CS
P Schoolbook cart- Squares 2"
A Child's Year cart- pg37 Icon/Leaves 2"
CTMH Ink- Ponderosa Pine, and Cranberry
SU Ink- Chocolate Chip
CTMH Stamp- Beautiful Day(the twig looking stamp)
Studio 112 Stamp- Leaves
SU Deminisonals
A2 Card

** QUESTION** Does anyone have any good recommendations for a Paper Trimmer?? Right now I use the little Cricut/Provo Craft one. I like it, but it seems like I go thru blades a lot and it makes my paper edges look like they have crumbs hanging off the edges. Price is not an issue. I would love to get a new Paper Timmer. Thanks :)

Thanks for all the comments!

I Feel The Love- September 2012

*sorry the lighting is bad, I took the pics in a different room*

I Feel The Love for September is for a special place called Casa Pacifica. Here is the Misson statement from Madison's blog. The statement comes from Casa Pacifica website.

Mission statement taken from the Casa Pacifica webite: "We meet kids and families at the most challenging times of their lives and help them overcome some of life’s most difficult circumstances – abuse and neglect, complex emotional and behavioral issues, and family crises. We restore hope, help children find joy in daily living, and improve families’ chances at making a better life for themselves and at finding a place in their community where they can be successful. Casa Pacifica is committed to children unconditionally over time and through all of life’s ups and downs.

Headquartered on a rural 24-acre campus five miles from the Pacific Ocean, Casa Pacifica serves abused and neglected children and adolescents, and those with severe emotional, social, behavioral, and mental health challenges. Our primary service area is California’s Central Coast, but referrals come from all over. We provide a comprehensive array of state of the art services to meet the varied and complex needs of children, youth and emerging adults in our care..."

I made 4 cards. Now I had these ideas planned out, but the pattern paper wasn't working with what I wanted. So I went with simple and cute. I hand stamped the base of card and added the cute Pumpkin from CAC. I think the cards turned out cute. I hope they put a smile on all the kids faces.

I Used/Recipe:
Bazzill CS
Wausau CS
Create A Critter cart- pg70 Pumpkin 3 1/2"
M's $1 stamps  Happy Halloween and Trick or Treat
SU Deminisonals
CTMH Ink- Hydrangea, Clover Meadow, and Orange
A2 card

Thanks for looking and all the great comments!! If you would love to send a card or cards in for IFTL please head over to Madison's blog at Funky Cards.

Halloween Mini page swap with Rhonda

*sorry the lighting is bad, I took the pics in a different room today*

Hello friends! Rhonda over at Scrap Happens asked her blogger friends a few weeks back about making some Halloween mini album pages. I was so excited to play along. One I have never made mini album pages before( I always say I will, but I never start a mini) Two this is my first layout(s). I had fun playing along and hope who ever gets my mini page enjoys it. Also I made Rhonda a page as well. Both are the same, so in my picture I just flipped one mini page over to show whats on each side. One side is Spiders...EEK! and the other is Bats with google eyes.

Now a Question for anyone that makes mini's...when you make your Tag/Insert to go behind the Pic area how do you keep the pocket from being so tight that it is kinda hard to put the Tag/Insert back in???? My first page was where I noticed the problem. I made my Tag/Insert smaller than the pocket and also made sure the adhesive wasn't to close. I only kept it on the edge. Any tips I greatly appreciate. :)

I Used/Recipe:
Cloud 9 Design PP- Seasonal stack
Wausau CS
Wild Card cart- pg68 Spider Webs 4 3/4" - 5 1/4" - 5 3/4"
P Schoolbook cart- Squares for Pic/Insert area 3 1/2" - 3 1/3" - 2 3/4"
Doodlecharms cart- pg 121 Spiders 1 3/4" - 1 1/2" - 1 1/4"
Pooh Font cart- Marker EEK! 1"
Wild Card cart- pg 68 Bats 1 3/4" up to 3"
SU Ink - Black
White gel pen
Google Eyes
pages are 5 1/5" x 8"

Thanks for looking and all the great comments!!
