50th Birthday!!

I made this fun 50th birthday card for my sweet Momma!! She is the BEST!! I made it cute n fun, cause my Momma isn't upset she is turning 50, she looks good for 50 :) She always gets mistaken for in 30s-early 40s so I think she has done pretty darn good for turning 50. Her birthday is the 23rd so I didn't want to make it Christmas theme. She always didn't like having a birthday a couple days before Christmas. I can understand why...hehe. I have to make an envie for this card cause it is big!

I Used/Recipe:
DCWV PP- Flower Shower stack
Wausau CS
Ashlyn's Alphabet- #50 2 1/4" Base/Shadow
Give A Hoot- pg56 Border/Banner 1 1/4"
CTMH Ink- Hydrangea
CTMH stamp set- Dainty Thoughts
White Gel Pen
SU Deminisonals
Card is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2"

Thanks for stopping by! Hope everyone has a great week.

Dino Lingo

I was asked to watch a video using the program Dino Lingo. I had to pick a language to watch the video in. I picked the French Learning for Kids. I don't have any kids yet so I really can't say if they would like it or not, but I know I did. I think it was a cute little program and it caught my eye and made me pay attention. I think this would be a great program for kids to use for learning other languages. I took French in High School and really liked it. I had a lot of fun. I think if I would have had this program it would have made it even more fun to learn at home. If you would like to give the Dino Lingo a try go here www.dinolingo.com and to YouTube. Search Dino Lingo..so simple and easy to pick which language you want to try.

*I was asked by Influenster to give my review.

Christmas Cards 2012

I want to start by saying that this year I went in a different direction for my Christmas cards. I wanted them to be a little more fancy and with no Cricut cuts. So I had this vision in my head for these cards...first they were plain so I was deciding what to add on them. I went to a dear friend on my blog who threw out some ideas my way. I decided to use a bow at the base of the trees(I will get to the story about the trees in a bit). I can't make a bow that small, so I looked and looked at the local craft stores. All the bows that I had found were small, but had the added pearl to them. I didn't want a pearl for mailing purpose. Well I was getting down to the wire of needing to get my cards done, I make 30. So I grabbed the ones with the pearls at J's the other day and just cut the pearls off. I think they turned out cute.

Now to the story of the Trees..I looked and looked for the right stamp of the tree that would look good heat embossed. I was in M's and happened to find the one from Hero Arts. I loved it and it seemed like the right size. I wasn't paying close attention, but the stamp is actually slanted/crooked. Now I can't tell unless pointed out. I tried even cutting my paper at an angle to see if it make it set better, Nope, that was even worse and really a pain to do angle cuts. I was too far into making my cards with all the trees embossed an the inside of the cards done, that I said heck with it and I am using the tree, it will just look really HANDMADE!! I love my cards, but you all know this isn't my style at all. Next year a Cricut cut and Cute theme it will be again. The cards I normally make are always neat and very well put together, and I will be honest these Christmas cards had me going crazy with all the cutting by hand with a paper trimmer. I will make fancy cards like this, but not in bulk. :) Sorry for the long post

I Used/Recipe:
Wausau CS
Hero Arts Stamp both outside of card and inside
Silver Embossing powder
Cuttlebug Folder- Snowflakes
VersaMark ink pad
SU deminisonals
A2 card

Thanks for looking and the great comments! I will be back in a week after a little trip. I want to get back in an create some cards. I have been away for too long.

Cute Tree Skirt I made and I will be away

Hi Friends, I wanted to share my Fun Christmas tree skirt I made. I got the idea when I was on Pinterest and someone I follow pinned this TREE SKIRT from The Land Of Nod. I really loved the style and all the colors. So with that tree skirt being on the pricy end..I decided to make one myself. A little different of course. So check out the TREE SKIRT that I got the idea from.

All products for my tree skirt came to a total of $8 bucks..I had a few coupons, but even with them I would have only spent maybe $11 bucks. I already had the embroidery floss. I separated the 6 threads and made them 3 each. I hand cute the tree skirt base using my Hula Hoop for a template. A coffee mug for center circle. I used a shot glass for the Dots. Now I cut these Dots 2 times. Once using the open end of a shot glass..well they just didn't look right on the size of the skirt, so I took the bottom of the shot glass and made them smaller. I also won't cut my tree skirt, it will have to be places on before I put the bottom part of the tree in the holder. I made 120 Dots and hand sewn 97 on the skirt. It took me about a week to make. I have a bunch of left over Fleece that I might make my Cat a pet bed :) I know she will like that, since she loved laying on the tree skirt..hehe :)

Products Used/Purchased:
1 yard of White Fleece
1 sheet Felt each in the colors Blue, Green, Yellow, Pink, Purple, and Red (you get these in the craft area at J's
Embroidery Floss..Multi Pack I already had
Double Sided tape to hold the Dots on while I sewing
Hula Hoop-already had
Coffee Mug-already had
Shot Glass-already had

I will also be away until after Thanksgiving, So I won't be on blogger that much. I hope to stop by every now n then to see how things are going and to leave comments. I hope everyone has a Great Thanksgiving!!

I Feel The Love November 2012

I love making cards for the I Feel The Love project. It is a great project to join in and share your cards. You don't have to make a bunch of cards for every month, you can make one or many as you like. the month of November is for Children's Hospital Central California. Sweet Madison asked us to make Christmas cards for the Kids. I made two cards. Now the lighting is horrible on my pics. We have people putting new roof on our Apt. building and well I wasn't opening my blinds to get natural light(and it's beautiful outside today), when there are weird guys out working going by my windows all day..lol So don't mind the darkness of the pictures.

I Used/Recipe:
Recollections PP- Bright & Jolly stack
Wausau CS
Winter Frolic cart- pg49 Stocking 4 1/4" --pg48 Tree 4 1/4"
CTMH Ink- Holiday Red and Clover Meadow
SU Deminisonals
White Gel
Black Sharpie
Fiskars stamps
A2 size card

The stamp is inside the card. I will add a little personal note to each card. I hope everyone is having a great week.

Crafty Tag

Hi Friends, I have a fun little Craft tag for y'all. I tag all my crafty friends to do this fun little tag. Enjoy!
I got this tag from Logans Crafty Momma  on YouTube!!

1. When did you first start crafting? -Well I have always been into crafts. In high school everyone would call me Martha Stewart since I always would come up with craft ideas for things. I have been doing this since I was able to draw..hehe :)

2. How did you start crafting?- I always liked the handmade feel of things. Plus coming up with creative things got me into crafting. Plus Cricut really pushed me more into it.

3. What is your favorite craft as of now? -Card making..I like making cards. I also like to sew and really want to get into quilting, but right now I don't have the space to quilt.

4. Where do you get most of your supplies? -Joann, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Crafts 2000, CTMH, and SU. I buy from every where..where ever I can get a good deal.

5. How often do you craft? -Not as much as I would like :(..I really need to craft more. I stay at home while hubby works, so I have all the time in the world to make stuff, but right now I am making a tree skirt. I hope to post pics later.

6. Is crafting your main hobby?- I would have to say Yes as of right now. When we get our own place I hope to make gardening a main hobby

7. Are you the craftiest person in your family? -Not really, we are all equal in something craft related. My mom can crochet an sew, my sis can make all kinds of decorations, and my dad can build stuff. My hubby's side they aren't crafty..they rather pay someone to make it. That is why it's so hard to make them handmade stuff cause they are so into buying from a store already made.

8. Name some crafts you do? -Card Making, making decor, hopefully quilting soon

9. What's the easiest craft you do? -Card Making...but there are days when I don't have the mojo to make anything.

10. What's the hardest craft you do?- Quilting. I have tried it, and it seems pretty hard, but once you get use to quilting it just gets easier.

I hope everyone can play along. Let me know if you do this fun tag.

VoxBox review 4 products

Hi Friends, I am back with my final reviews of the products I got in my Beauty Bloggers VoxBox 2012. I hope you enjoy my reviews and if you have tried any of these products please feel free to share what you like or don't like about them.

*These products were sent to me by Influenster...this is the Beauty Bloggers VoxBox 2012. All reviews will be my HONEST thoughts. You all know I don't blog much about beauty products, but every so often I like to share some of my favorite items that I am using at the moment. So I feel  honored that Influenster sent me this box of goodies to test out and give my honest review on. Only HONEST reviews here!*

Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin
for Dark Hair

The Spin Pins retail for $7.29. I have to say I was really wondering if these pins would work on my long thick hair. I see them in stores, but never paid much thought. I followed the directions on the back of the box..let me tell ya THEY WORK!!! I was shocked...I mean really I was. It felt like I had nothing holding my hair up..it was really nice. No hair came loose, I just need to make a little better bun next time, but I really could see myself using these for events like a wedding. Plus all those fun bun tutorials on Pinterest I bet these will come in handy instead of the bobby pin. I would repurchase these. Also like I have said before, these products can be bought in drugstores..if you try out a product and it's not what you like, I know many drugstores offer returns. Just ask when checking out.

Vitabath Fragrance Mist
8fl oz 16 Fabulous Scents

Vitabath retails for $9.99 (this is from their website myvitabath.com) I got this as a Bonus product to try out. I am really picky when it comes to body sprays. So many give me headaches so that is why I only stick to bakery type smells. Like Vanilla. The Vitabath Fragrance Mist I got was the Spa Day Green Tea & Sage. Now at first I was like this is gonna be a funky smell. It isn't that bad. I was shocked I liked it. Its fresh and clean scent. It smells like something I have smelled before, but I can't place what it is. Someday it will hit me and I'll remember :) I was on the Vitabath site looking around and I think I might try out the Wild Red Cherry, and Cucumber & White Tea. I'm not sure if these can be purchased in stores, I only see that you can purchase on their site.

Bath & Body Works Mini Candles
Mahogany Teakwood 1.3oz

B&BW Mini Candles retail for $3.50. You all know I love my B&BW 3 wick candles...this is just a smaller votive style candle. This candle comes in a glass container. The scent I got is Mahogany Teakwood. Now at the store I always pass over this scent...like I said before I love the bakery type scents. Well after getting this scent to try I like it. It is great for a guy, so he isn't smelling all those bakery scents all day. This scent to me smells like Ambercrombie & Fitch stores. I do like it. Also I think these Mini Candles can be used in a cute gift bag or as a prize during a baby shower/bridal shower. Nice little gift.  Makes it easy for people to try out a scent before buying the bigger 3 wick.

EBOOST
Daily Health Booster packet

EBOOST retails for $28 for box of 20, $39 for box of 30, $39 for box of 12 shots. I'm gonna be honest here, I did not try this. Not cause I don't want to, but I take Vitamins already and I didn't want to have too many vitamins. Yes this can happen. My sister had it happen before. She had too much of something in her system and she actually got sick. I will try this on a day I need the extra boost if I forget to take my daily vitamins. From reviews I have read...these worked for some, but not for others. For me any kind of a energy drink etc. they always make my stomach hurt. So sorry about not having a real review of this product.

My reviews were Honest. This is the last of my Beauty Blogger VoxBox products to review. I hope you all enjoyed learning about some new products. Thanks again Influenster!

Halloween Card - Pumpkin

I made this cute little card for my nephew. I really can't make anything to crazy with lots of images or crazy Halloween pattern paper. He gets scared way too easy and when I mean scared he screams and cries. He gets scared easy at anything, Dogs, Cats..etc. Well I wanted to make him something cute, so I had this fun pattern paper-PP and decided to use the cute pumpkin from create a critter.

I Used/Recipe
Target $1 Spot PP
Wausau CS
Create A Critter cart-pg70 Pumpkin 3 1/4"
Google Eyes
SU deminisonals
A2 card
*sorry lighting is bad..gloomy here today*

Thanks for looking!!

VoxBox reviews 3 products

Hi Friends! I am back with a review of three products from my VoxBox. I have pictures of the products to share as well. Also a note...I am not great at taking self portraits/close ups of my eyes, so there won't be any pictures of those.

*These products were sent to me by Influenster..this is the Beauty Bloggers VoxBox 2012. All reviews will be my HONEST thoughts. You all know I only share some of my favorite Beauty products, I feel honored that Influenster shared this box with me, and that I can share it with you..I know maybe I can reach a crowd that don't follow or watch other Beauty bloggers that do this all the time. If any of you have tried these products before please feel free to share with me what you like and don't like. I would love to hear what you think as well. Remember I only give HONEST reviews. .*

NYC New York Color IndividualEyes Custom Compact
for Brown Eyes/938 Union Square
Included in the compact: bottom to top: Highlighter, All over lid, Crease Contour, Crease Contour, Primer base, Illuminator
no pic of the primer or Illuminator *sorry
This compact retails for $4.99. I have Brown eyes so I was pretty excited to give this a try. The price kinda made me think it wouldn't be that great of a compact. However I was proven wrong. Now I used everything in this compact, but the applicator. I used my makeup brushes instead. I never get good application with those sponge applicators that come with eyeshadow. I think the primer is nice, it could also be used as a concealer if had to be. I have no creasing so I say the primer does its job :) Now on to the shadows. I like all the colors but one, the 3rd color the color right by the Plum shade. Its okay, but its not a color I usually grab for and I have the Urban Decay Naked palette so there is a color similar in that palette. I never go for that shade. I loved the others especially the Highlighter. I can see myself going to this for a quick highlight. It's light enough to even use as a Illuminator. The eyeshadow is really soft and very powdery. You defiantly have to shake the extra off the brush before applying or you will have fall out. I like how well they blended for me. I do like this compact. For the price it does the job.

Not Your Mother's Kinky Moves Curl Defining Hair Cream

Retails for $6.00 for full size 4-oz bottle. I have to say I was super pumped to try this. I have naturally curly hair and I either have to blow dry my hair or straighten it cause I never found a product that will help my curls by keeping them Frizz free and not a crunchy curl, you know like how some products do. I will say this I LOVE THIS PRODUCT...it worked so great with my hair. I will be buying a bigger bottle. The smell is a yummy smell, and its not a sticky cream. You can purchase this at a Drugstore, so if you are looking for a curl product give Not You Mother's a try. If it don't workout I do know most drugstores will take returns, just ask :)

Kiss Ever Pro Lashes Starter Kit
Style 05

Retails for $5.99. Okay when I saw that these were in the VoxBox I was kinda bummed, only because I am not a lashes wearer. I have pretty decent eyelashes and with the right mascara they look almost fake. I told myself I have to try these out, how hard can it really be, it is a starter kit. Okay I trimmed to the size I needed..they are really soft, that is a plus and they were easy to apply. I however felt like I had something on my eyelids that wasn't suppose to be there. lol.. Now I have worn false lashes for Halloween, but those were only on for a couple hours maybe even less cause I just couldn't take it. Now for those eye lash wearers out there I say these would work great for you. They say 100% Human Hair..they are super soft and easy to apply. They make you have super full lashes..Like a Kim K look, if that is what you are going for. For me though they just aren't my thing. I may try them again sometime.

These reviews were Honest. I will be back with some more reviews on other products in my VoxBox. Also I need to work on some Halloween cards...eeek Halloween is next week. I hope everyone stays safe with Hurricane Sandy coming. They are giving us two ways it will impact us...one is Snow and the other is Severe damaging winds..I rather have SNOW!!!

I Love Fall!! tag

Hi everyone, I was visiting a favorite blogger of mine Sam Schuerman's blog a little bit ago and decided to do the fun little I Love Fall tag. Sam does a lot of beauty blog post and she also has a YouTube channel. She is so funny to watch. She also a very sweet person.

I Love Fall
1.Favorite Fall lip product
Would have to be my Blistex, I'm not much of a lip stick or lip gloss person, but will when I feel like it, but I can't be without my Blistex

2.Favorite Fall Nail Polish
Essie Lady Like..I love this color for fall, it is just light enough for me.

3.Favorite Starbucks Fall Drink
Salted Carmel Mocha

4.Favorite Fall Candle
B&BW 3-wicks candles in the scent, Pumpkin Cupcake, Leaves, Cider Lane and Cinnamon Sugared Donut. At first Leaves wasn't my favorite, but so many people said it was awesome. I got a Leaves candle and the scent has grown on me..I love it.

*these pics our mine*

5.Favorite Fall Scarf or Accessory
I would have to say my North Face Fleece. It's easy to grab when I need to step out real quick

6.Haunted House, Haunted Hay Ride, Haunted Trail?
I'm not big on Haunted Houses..there is a very famous haunted house called Haunted Hoochie not to far from where I live..I will never go there, I am not into scary things and Haunted Hoochie happens to be one of the sacriest around...eeek. Not my cup of tea. I do however love the haunted Island at a local Lake..that is fun, scary, but fun. They take you out on a boat to get to the Island.

7.Favorite Halloween Movie
None!!! I hate halloween related movies anything scary..they are not for me. I know this isn't everybody, but the new scary movies that are out makes me think they are giving these Wackos in the world some ideas. Movies now are too gory.

8.Favorite Candy to eat on Halloween
Mini Snickers

9.What are you dressing up as for Halloween
Nothing. I haven't dressed up since 5 years ago and I was a spider witch

10.What is your favorite thing about Fall
Everything! Leaves changing, the smell of leaves when they are on the ground. Bundling up in cute clothes like sweaters and boots. The smell of Apples when you walk into a market or by a stand. Burning Fall scent candles. Sitting out by a bon-fire all bundle up wearing a comfy hoodie and having a good time with great friends and family.

I tag anyone who wants to play along. I know Fall is a lot of others favorite season. I know that I love Fall!!

Hugs, Sheena

Cooking With Cricut #106 Color Challenge

Over at My Paper Craft World this week the Cooking With Cricut is a Color Challenge, plus you have to have on your project String, Twine, Hemp, or Yarn included with the color palette. I made a round card for my project. I wanted to put something such as Give Thanks on the top where it is blank, but I don't have a stamp that looked good and my handwriting isn't the best when I know I need to make it look neat.  So for now I will leave it blank and if I come across a good stamp that fits I will add it. I just love this time of year. the leaves changing, the crisp cool days, and all the fun fall decorations. So I went with a Fall theme for my card.

I Used/Recipe:
Debbie Mumm PP
Cloud 9 Design PP
Wausau CS
Bazzill CS
Wild Card cart- pg48 Black out card base 5"
P Schoolbook- Circles 1/2" to 1 1/4"
A Child's Year cart-pg37 Icon/Leaves using Real Dial Size 2 3/4"
CTMH Ink- Desert Sand
Gold Gel pen faux stitching
Embroidery floss
5" card

Hope everyone has had a great weekend. I think I will be back to taking pics under my Ott Light since the day light gets shorter and it seems to be gloomy a lot more. Thanks for stopping by.

CARDZ TV #117 SSSooo SSSpooky

Over at CARDZ TV this week Mary asked for the Challenge to be a Halloween S-Fold card. Now I have come across S-Fold cards before in the blog world, but I never put much thought into trying one. Well this challenge caught my eye on the whole S-Fold and I wanted to give it a try. I first tried it on my challenge card for Cooking With Cricut this week. Just to see if I was gonna like it. Well I did...I love it. I think I might use the S-Fold for my Christmas cards. For my card I don't have too many carts with cute Halloween theme cuts, but I really do love that cute little Spider on Doodlecharms. I thought the Eye PP I have would look cute with a Big Cute spider on it. I think it turned out cute.

I Used/Recipe:
Target $1 Spot PP
Wausau CS
DC cart- pg 62 Spider 3 1/4" Shadow feature
Pooh Font cart- Marker 3/4" EEK!
White Gel pen
Black Sharpie
Google Eyes
A2 S-Fold card

*Note* I will take a white piece of CS and place inside long ways to write a sentiment. With the spider being kinda skinny, another spider behind it on the inside didn't look right.

Thanks for all the great comments!

Hugs, Sheena

Cooking With Cricut #105 Apples or Honey

Over at My Paper Craft World this week the Cooking With Cricut Challenge was Apples or Honey in honor of the Fall feast Yahweh(Yeshua Jesus Christ Our Lord),Yom Teruah (New Year) and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement). I went with Honey for my card. I love honey bees and bee hives I think they are so cute. Plus I really wanted to use this Autumn paper I have. I thought it go well with a Honey theme. I made an S-Fold card. This is my first go at an S-Fold. I got the idea from Mary at CARDZ TV..that is our challenge for her this week an S-Fold and well I wanted to give it a try for the Cooking With Cricut Challenge. This card is for Cooking With Cricut since it's not a Halloween theme. I have to say I Love the S-Fold style..I might even  make Christmas cards in the S-Fold style.

I Used/Recipe:
Cloud 9 Desgin PP- Seasonal Stack
Wausau CS
Bazzill CS
Pooh & Friends cart- pg16 Hive 3 1/2" Outiside and 3 1/4" Inside -- pg17 Bees 1 1/4" n 1" also used flip feature
CTMH Ink - Desert Sand
Black Sharpie- Faux stitching and Bzzz!
A2 size S-Fold card

*Note* my bees the base is Yellow and I used the sharpie pen to color the black onto them cause the cuts were too small on the cricut and they didn't turn out right when I glued them down. Also I drew on the little antenna's. Today really made me frustrated with my paper trimmer. I am headed to M's tomorrow and seeing what deals they have on a trimmer..it's time for a new one. Thank you for those who commented on several post back about Trimmers you recommend. I'll look at them tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Dollar Spot Goodies

Hi Friends, I wanted to share some of the Goodies I picked up today at my local Target $1 Spot. I got these Little Kraft Bags 8 Count and some Pattern Paper. This was the only PP pack left so I grabbed it. I am always looking for cute Halloween PP. The Kraft bags are a great deal you get 8 in a pack. It don't say the size. They also have Bigger White bags as well. I know a lot of my craft buddies love these type of bags and wanted to share the deal. At my Target they had a Bunch..so get out and get you some soon before they are gone...hehe

Thanks for looking!! Have a Great weekend everyone!!

Cooking With Cricut #102 Color Challenge

This week at My Paper Craft World the Cooking With Cricut Challenge was a Color Challenge. The colors you had to use are Brown, Kraft, Cream, Green, and Red. I love these colors together. Fall is my favorite time of year and these colors remind me of the leaves changing, caramel apples, and all the fun things about Fall. My card is simple..I did a stamped background on simple pattern paper. My card could be used for a simple greeting to a friend.

I Used/Recipe:
Cloud9 Design PP- Seasonal Stack
Wausau CS
P Schoolbook cart- Squares 2"
A Child's Year cart- pg37 Icon/Leaves 2"
CTMH Ink- Ponderosa Pine, and Cranberry
SU Ink- Chocolate Chip
CTMH Stamp- Beautiful Day(the twig looking stamp)
Studio 112 Stamp- Leaves
SU Deminisonals
A2 Card

** QUESTION** Does anyone have any good recommendations for a Paper Trimmer?? Right now I use the little Cricut/Provo Craft one. I like it, but it seems like I go thru blades a lot and it makes my paper edges look like they have crumbs hanging off the edges. Price is not an issue. I would love to get a new Paper Timmer. Thanks :)

Thanks for all the comments!
