Cooking With Cricut #81 Card Outreach
For this week over at My Paper Craft World..the Cooking With Cricut challenge this week was Card Outreach/Thinking of You cards. There are two pretty girls Patty and Emily who will be receiving these beautiful cards. If you would like to read Patty's story MPCW, for Emily's story IFTL. I made a card for Emily for IFTL. Here is a LINK to Emily's card I made for her. I'm only entering Patty's card into the challenge, since I already made Emily's card last week. I hope my card puts a big smile on Patty's face. :)
I Used/Recipe:
K&Co PP- From the big stacks/box at J's I think it was a bunch of the favorite PP thru the year
DCWV PP- Flower Shower stack -Bee Wings
Wausau CS
Bazzill CS
CAC cart- pg.68 Hive 4 1/4" -- Bee 2"
P Scoolbook cart- Rectangle 5" *I will explain this at the end* -- Roly Poly/Hi! 3/4"
CTMH ink- Desert Sand
White gel pen
Black sharpie pen
SU Dimensionals
A2 card
**Note** The reason I had to cut a Rectangle is for the background PP. This K&Co paper well sucks cutting on a paper trimmer. It's okay if you cut it a certain way, but if you need to make a cut in another direction it just shreds the paper. I thought maybe it's my blade..no I tried out DCWV PP, Bazzill CS, and Wausau CS and it did not shred.. I tried some other K&Co out of the other big stack I have, and well it done the same thing..Shred! The K&Co PP is thin, a lot thinner than other PP I have used. If anyone has this PP stacks/box please let me know if you have the same issue cutting it with a paper trimmer. My paper trimmer is the Provo Craft one. I really love this PP, but I remember from over a year ago I used it and it done the same thing and I just said I won't use it again. Well I really want to use it..there are some fun patterns. I also tried scoring the PP before cutting with trimmer..nope it didn't work. So that leaves me to using the Cricut to cut it. Sometimes it shreds on there as well, but not bad like with the paper trimmer. The trimmer its really bad when it shreds the PP. I hope to find a trimmer or something that will cut the PP besides using the Cricut. You get these K&Co stacks at J's!!
Thanks for all the great comments!
Hugs, Sheena

Adorable. Thanks for joining us at cooking with cricut (and I feel your frustration with that paper and the paper trimmer!!)
ReplyDeleteGreat card. This PDDU is going to be great. can't wait. your work is great.
ReplyDeleteSheena, too cute:) Patty will love it! Whenever I try to cut paper that tears or punch paper that tears, I put plain white card stock over the top of it first as an extra layer to make it heavier and for some reason it works. It lets me cut and punch really thin paper this way. No shredding or tearing. I am not sure why I tried this but it made sense in my head and it worked. You have to make sure you are cutting the heavy paper first and hiding the thin paper under it. I hope that helps. If not, I may not be understanding your problem. Thank you so much for joining us this week at Cooking With Cricut.
